(1991) Contextualization of canned jokes in discourseИсточники: - https://www.researchgate.net/publication/24...es_in_discourse- January 1991Humor - International Journal of Humor Research 4(1):23-40 DOI: 10.1515/humr.1991.4.1.23 Автор: ANAT ZAJDMAN QUOTE | Abstract
The different modes which can be used to incorporate canned jokes into a discourse are a function of the contextual situations in which they are communicated. A four-stage model to show the gradually increasing relevance of the joke to its context is proposed, from the loosest connection, where an addition of two sequential texts occurs, through the use of the canned joke as parable, followed by using a joke as an instrumental allusion, and up to the mode where the text of the canned joke becomes incorporated into its context through an overlap of the context and joke scripts. This overlap can be further used as a vehicle for conveying valid information. Implications of the different modes of contextualization of canned jokes for the nature of the discourse and the humor effected are offered as well as some remarks about the informative and regenerative potential of canned jokes, with special regard to Jewish jokes. |
